#10 Payments Unmasked

Hi there,
Welcome back to yet another edition of the TickleCharge newsletter! April brings with it something a lot of us were dreading, a new High-Risk fee structure!

Visa and MasterCard increase the initial non-refundable and annual renewal fee

If you didn't know, now you do, from April 1, running a High-Risk business becomes more expensive. There is an increase in the High-Risk fees from $500 to $950.

Please note, that this fee is non-refundable and is deducted annually.

Visa’s Fee Structure has changed

Effective April 1, Visa has introduced a 10-cent fee for each transaction and 10 BPS (0.1%) payment volume processed on certain merchant accounts.

The merchant accounts that will face these are MCC 5967, 7273, and 7995.
All of these are high-risk MCCs.
⏺ 5967 - Adult sites
⏺ 7273 - Dating sites
⏺ 7995 - Betting, Casinos

What can you do to keep the costs down?

  • Don’t authorize transactions unnecessarily

  • Settle large transactions instead of multiple smaller batches

  • Use fraud prevention tools like Visa RDR, CDRN, and Mastercard Ethoca, or talk to us. We know the best veterans in the industry to help you out
